Puerto Rico Language Centre was opened in September 2014, by Diego Mesa, a local from Gran Canaria, who has lived for 20 years abroad, 17 of which were spent in the United Kingdom.
While in England he taught doctors Spanish, among other professionals, has worked using different languages in sectors such as the IT and Telecoms Industries, Research and Development for Universities and Higher Education among others, which has given him a vast amount of experience.
On his return he saw that due to a lack of interest in the area of Puerto Rico, the British, Irish and Scandinavian Expats, did not have access to a Spanish tutor, many of which have expressed their frustration at one point or another.
Since then, he has helped people become more confident, more fluent and most of all more at home in Gran Canaria.
